The Shivwits Band of Paiutes has been a sovereign Indian tribe since time immemorial. We have lived as an independent and strong Shivwits Band for centuries, making our home at Sham. The Shivwits Band had its own Constitution and By-Laws approved in 1941, and governed itself as a federally recognized tribe.
